Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, we can tailor a solution based on your specific requirements, whether that be a simple charger, a charger with the ability to only charge from excess solar or a commercial charger with RFID card control for your residential building or office.
We handle every aspect of the process ourselves, from the initial enquiry through to the final installation by an in-house A Grade Electrician. Unlike other companies we don’t use subcontractors and this allows us to ensure that every installation meets our rigorous standards for quality and customer satisfaction.
We are accredited to offer various types of EV chargers and would propose a charger based on your individual requirements. We can also advise and carry out, if required, any associated work such as data logging, switchboard and mains supply upgrades.

How much does it cost to install an EV charger?
The cost of installing an EV charger is determined by various factors such as the brand of charger, single or 3 phase, smart or dumb, solar optimised etc. The distance and difficulty of the run from the switchboard, as well if any other associated work is required such as switchboard or mains supply upgrades, are also factors.
As an indication, the cost for the supply and installation of a 7kW Zappi charger is typically in the range of $2,400 – $2,800 + GST.
Will I need to upgrade my homes electrical supply?
If your home has a 63A supply an upgrade is generally not required, though you would have to be mindful about charging your EV at the same time as other heavy electrical loads. If you have a 40A single phase supply an upgrade would be recommended. Some smart chargers include dynamic load balancing, which protects your home or business against overload by automatically adjusting the current available to the charger based on the consumption of other appliances. You could also schedule to charge your EV during times of little electricity use or exclusively from excess solar generation. Of course, you may want to upgrade your supply to 3 phase if you require a faster charge or plan to charge multiple EV’s simultaneously.
Will I need to upgrade my switchboard?
If you have a modern switchboard with circuit breakers then generally an upgrade isn’t required. Occasionally, if the board is full, we have to modify the existing circuit protection to make space for the new EV safety switch. If you have an old fuse board an upgrade would be highly recommended, irrespective of the EV charger installation. If you’re unsure please send through a photo and we can quickly advise you.
Should I install a charger at my home or business?
A charger at home or at your place of work is obviously much more convenient than relying on public chargers and much quicker than trickle charging.
With rates of up to 60c/kWh for ultra-rapid DC fast chargers charging at home is generally also cheaper, particularly if you have solar and can schedule charging times during periods of excess generation. Similarly, if you are on a time of use tariff, using the EV charger’s timer to schedule charging on an off-peak rate would also provide cost savings.
